Thanks for that info Richard W. will be going down that route one way or t'other

Possibly a question for Rory Perrett , on the back of the fuse box, the red multiconnector, back right is a yellow wire and thin orange wire,
I believe this yellow wire is the power wire to the relay, I ask as it looks like you've had dealings with this.

If it is i'm going to cut it and splice in a new wire.

Hopeing you can advise me on this, or that someone can

Eventually got back to this,
Bridged a wire into the relay, with the engine running i now get the following
14 volts into the relay pin 1 and i can feel it switching
motor control brown connector red wire 13 volts in
orange wire 13 volts
black wire earth 13 volts
white wire what does this do
PCB red wire 13 volts
black wire 13 volts
so power is going through the PCB

The Air Con switch lights when pressed (though seems a bit faint)

I think thats everything, Any Ideas anyone

'Had a similar fault with our air con and climate control. Fitted a new relay a new module from RSC Accrington (Fleabay) and fluxed and soldered the tip of the wire in all the spade connectors off the brown terminal block plus the separate wire. Checked that the wire was ok in the plastic covering next to the spade connectors.
Cleaned inside each spade connector, oh joy, (sat outside the car with the door open to do it rather than on the passenger seat)
Also found the connector for the compressor at the front (Need the engine tray removed) was oxidising so cleaned that.

It's been ok for a month now.
Good luck
Andy.
If it can happen it will.

Hello all and a Merry Christmas to everyone.

I now have 13 volts going through the heater/blower board. the board to ecu wire has 13 volts.

I had to demist the car before i drove home the other evening so i switched the board relay with a plastic clothes peg and left it clipped on till I got home (about 15 minutes)
When I parked the car up and took off the high tech switching unit :-D the heater blower carried on running till i switched the car off, wouldn't run on its own the next day though, still only blowing cold air though.

I definately need a lexia!!!!!

Hello all,
everything now seems to be working, as i said previously i had good voltages through the system so in frustration I hit the dashboard close to the temperature sensor, it started working so i've given that sensor a good blow through, see how it goes in the next couple of days.

On the good side i've now got a spare motor and 2 speed control boards, all working.

Thanks for the suggestions and guidance on this forum.

Peter

Hello all, still not working, took the cabin sensor out and cleaned that, looked gunged up, didn't sort the problem.

Re: Another Heater/Blower. now fixed

Post by peter306 »

Hello all,
went round Taffys this afternoon and he put his lexia on it, to start it wouldn't talk to the climate control computer, in fact it didn't think there was one,
After we had checked various electrical bits that i would never have thought of we decided the climate control computer wasn't getting power, Taffy jumped that from a switched live to the blue wire on the computer and it then worked and the lexia picked it up and spoke to it.

We tried to find the proper wire on the fuse box but couldn't get continuity on any. On the pink wire from the computer we got continuity on 2 pink wires at the fuse box.

Will have to get hold of another fusebox as Taffy thinks mine may be the problem.

Taffy is now my star, would never have got this without him =D>

nice to meet u mate :)
glad we got it working in the end \:D/
but still something is amiss...the pcms switched live has no power..im thinking either open circuit or fuse board..
however open circuit on the size of the wire would need a pair of snips to acheave so i think it may be fuse board..
i havent looked in one mind so if anyones got a pic or expeirence in this would be very helpfull..
we checked every fuse(beep test) and all were in good working order..
the relay for the heater unit was also working..this was confirmed secondly when we spiced a switched live from it direct to the pcm and everything sprung into life! \:D/
the wires go from the pcm up behind glove box to up by the body computer..another thing was the body computer had 2 layers a yellow plug blue plug and a black plug with thick wires going into it..does this system send a switched live to the pcm perhaps?
oh well im sure we will find it in the end..
well done mate u done well two good minds work well together :)
no probs mate good work!

A quick correction, it's the pink wire from the PCMS that we jumpered not the blue one.

And it turns out that I made a mistake, I wired it to the live side of the relay, result, a flat battery this morning

now sorted and the battery on charge, Whoops

Had a good laugh, all that work and I go and do that :rofl2:

Just got to find the real problem now, down the scrappy tommorrow and see if there is a fuse box that matches, see if it is that
