how easy is it to clock a car?
I've been looking at c5's and the love of my life has just bought a C4 (God I love the C5) but I was just wondering, how easy, if at all, is it to clock a Citroen?
C'est pas possible!

I think it's impossible to do without being detected nowadays, you can go online and check the mileage on old MOTs

Both answers spot on. There's "mileage correction" software that simply plugs into the disgnostic port and can change the odometer to whatever you want, useful if you've had a speedo change ala Renault Scenic's digital dash which is a known problem, but not so useful if you are buying a used car. The MOT does indeed show the last 5 mileages recorded at MOT but thats no use for newer cars. A 3 year car could have its clock wound back from 120k to 60k prior to its first MOT and nobody would be any the wiser unless the car had been serviced in a main dealer network and the mileages stored on their database.

Or you just knock the same amount of miles off the car just before the MOT every year...
