Yes, I'm sure he is. Not making it clear on the advert says to me he is not someone I Would want to do a deal with

Fuse for the display is definitely in the glove box fuse-pack. I'm sure it supplies dash lights, some dials too. (Sometimes the display flickers on long journeys so I've asked my passenger to pull the appropriate fuse.) As for the 2.2 part at some point they'll need DPF fluid topping up. A lot of owners just rip out the filter and get the ecu reprogrammed, it's cheap to do.

Yes. Me too. I wouldn't touch this car with sh1tty stick, there's plenty of working ones about. Steer well clear.

Yes exactly. It's like the cars you see advertised with "no MOT but will pass easily". So, why not spend the £50 or so and up the price by £300?

Perhaps because it's rather more faulty than the seller wishes you to know?

Just done 600 miles in a fully loaded 2.2 173 and I got a miserable 41.4 mpg. Heavy rain and high winds for 60% of the trip didn't help but given that , for once, I tried to keep to a maximum of 70 mph, it's still not a great figure.
The X7 is an awful lot heavier (244Kg) than the earlier cars of course, so they may well be a bit more frugal.

Used to get 52 to 55mpg (Motorway at 65/75) and 42-46mpg (Ave roads), down to 36-40 (in London), loaded....in my old Mk1 2lt Exclsv

Get 42-48 (Town) 45-52 (Ave) and 56-62( Motorway 55-85) in the 1.6 Mk1 Facelift

I'm getting an average of 54.3 on the computer, which seems to equate to an actual 56mpg if I let it run dry and calculate the old fashioned way. That's not quite hypermiling driving style, but not far off. I do, for example, often switch the engine off at traffic lights - there's some in our village that take 4 minutes to change!

I've been off for a week and just driving it normally around town and in a hurry a couple of occasions, that's dropped to 47.3mpg.

Personally id leave alone, there are lots of C5's about and its just a matter of biding your time for the right one. If you have a BCA auction house near you that could throw up a good one, I watched a 2.0 petrol exclusive 03 in good condition sell for £275 last week + fees! You can do all your homework before you go these days and see what is going through on there website.
