Change the pressure sensor for a known one, or have you done that?

DONT worry about the heater plug that will be glow plugs, but like all DI engines, it doesn't really need the neater plugs working. Ive NEVER put any in mine at all, and she still starts fine.

Yes and 400 bar rail pressure IS VERY GOOD, and should start on that.

Mine starts when the rail pressure shows 200 bar...

ok i got it now
88 is the pin i was refering to and indeed it is glow plug control earth...i had it disconected and there was volts there
i chased the wire through the loom across gearbox under fuse box and it goes into this sealed unit which bolts into the wing..
have theses been known to fail? it cant be conected to the right side wing socket as i disconected it and still volts there, but also it conects to left side to..i just thought i better try both sides monday..

The ECU controls the Glow plug box on the HDi, it senses the outside temperture and operates the box as needed, however, in the UK they are rarely used I THINK. Ive never put any plugs in mine. Have you put heater plugs in yours taffy??

I think the 8v DI will still always start with or without heater plugs in working order.

PS: Do you STILL possess ALL those Xantias in your signiture???

Ahh shame. Ive got an L reg Black one in the middle of resto... but if I could get a tidyer BLACK one, I would. Mind you, after Ive changed the dirty grey carpet, swaped the VSX seats for Leather, and swapped the Dash for a cleaner one with glove box fitted (air Con type glove box) because I retro fitted Air Con, im hoping she will be half decent. Need to touch up a scratch on the drivers side too...
