Small LHM leak above the rear subframe

Post by c.morewood »

Does anyone have pictures of the piping above the rear subframe. I think back in April I may have pulled one of the pipes going into the cylinder bellows a little too hard and caused a small leak in one of the pipes above the rear subframe. Has anyone come across this before? I had thought that it was a corroded pipe or a leaky connection. But under really close examination today, I see that the LHM is coming down from above the subframe. Any ideas?

Hmmm if not low return pipe leak, the start of a High Preassure WEEP! Useually pipes in the CLips start to rot, and a weep can be a leak on one that doesn't become big till you pull it out of the clip..

Is it on the passenger side area of the subframe?? Its NOT hard to lower one side of the subframe to investigate the leak further...

I can't see any high pressure pipes going over the subframe in that area Paul and I remembered having to pull the return pipes tight back in April to get them to go into the bellows.
With my car it might be harder than you think.. everything's getting VERY rusty. I've coated as much as I can with Kurust but If any Nuts and bolts have to be removed I think It'll require a bit of heat or grinding.
I'm going to start the process of replacing pipes very soon as I can see one or two starting to show signs of corrosion.
