My C5's ECU

Post by Diabolical »

Can any body tell me what make of ECU in my C5 2.0 HDi 16v on 06 plate it's either Bosch or Siemens hoping it's Bosch for remap.

Pull the engine cover off and look at the injectors, if there's a series of rubber tubes going across the top of them all linked up you have Bosch, no tubes = Siemens.

Looks like only Siemens is listed against the injectors for 16V 2.0 engine.... But VIN may confirm.

My C5 is Siemens and getting a remap done was no problem. The guy removed the ECU and took it into his workshop.

Hi John

I had it done that way with my Petrol TCT Xantia He had to remove the chip and replace with remapped one as they couldn't be re-flashed.
I may go for it after I've removed EGR and DPF I was hoping more for to be remapped on the car same time as shutting of depolution light, error.

Still @ 197k not sure worth it even though driving car you wouldn't think so.

I had the DPF removed 18 months ago and again the guy had to remove the ECU and take it indoor to connect to his computer.

That's interesting
Did you notice much difference after the re mapping?
Do you know if he's still doing it and where he is based.

I didn't notice much difference after the remap - that is until I hooked on my caravan. Then I did notice it. I was able to maintain 55-60 in 6th gear and the fuel consumption fell 3 or 4 mpg.

I remember driving off after the particle filter was removed. It was like having two engines. And I'm glad to say it still manages to get a quick pass on the MOT emissions.

The company I used for the remap was in Chessington, Surrey and the filter removal was done by a guy in Estbourne. If you need them, I can give you contact numbers.

Thanks John
I may get back to you on the remap, however going to attempt :x DPS friend & myself. Removing easy enough telling the ECU there isn't one the tricky bit.
