Citroen C3 Picasso Headlamp adjustment motor

Post by russbif »

I need to buy two new headlamps to convert my LHD C3 Picasso to RHD, is the adjuster motor within the headlamp or is it elsewhere? Carparts4less tell me that the H/lamps do not come with the motor, not a problem if it can be swapped from car to car.

Any advice gratefully received

not sure on the C3 Picasoooo,
but normaly the adjuster motor/servo is a bayonet fitting into the back out side of the head lamp unit,

also if converting to RHD you might find you heed RHD rear lamps,
as a lot of cars only have one rear fog lamp built into the main rear light unit,

if this is the case the car will not pass a UK MOT

rear lamps are not a problem, both the lamp units are identical, just a red bulb for the fog. Just need to clarify the headlamps, I have spent the day googling and cannot find anything. Anybody got a Haynes mabnual that show the headlamp installation?

Just a thought. My cousin has an Audi TT, and when he went to Scandinavia on holiday all that he had to do was to move a lever in the back of each headlight to switch them from (in effect) RHD to LHD. He also stuck a Post It note to his return ticket to remind him to switch them back.

so are you saying you have a working rear fog lamp in both rear lamp units,

as quite a few small cars only have one fog and one reversing lamp, depending on left or right hand drive to wich side these are fitted/functioning,

to pass a UK MOT you must have an O/S rear fog lamp working

Both the rear fog and reversing lights are exactly the same unit (just opposite hands), the reversing light has a clear bulb and the fog light a red one. Just need to switch the feeds over.

It might be possible to connect up a Lexia and tell it about the change of country, which might deal with the rear lights. When I took delivery of the Octavia, I found the NS fog light wasn't working (the OS was). When I queried this I was told that this was due to the country setting, done as part of the initial pre-delivery checks.

I also can change from km's per hour to miles per hour via the dash menu, but I reckon I may will need a Lexia handset to do the lights. They have had coloured bulbs for some time, an old mondeo of mine had orange bulbs in clear indicator housings
