How to remove C5 MK1 door card (NS)

Post by Northern_Mike »

Hi All,

I've got a new temp sender to fit to the mirror on the C5. I have a soldering iron. I also have an afternoon free. Now, I could just snip the wires, or I believe I could remove the door card and actually plug it in (where?).

2 questions - is it worth the hassle, and if so , what's the best way to remove the door card? Do I have to remove other gubbins to get to wherever the sender plugs into?

cheers
.

Brilliant, thanks Clogzz. Quick snip of wires, and some solder it is then :-)

You're welcome ! :)
The outer cover of the door handle unclips from behind in two places.
I forgot to mention that there's a screw under a plug to remove first, but that will be obvious enough.

Enjoy a good fiddle. :)

Removing the door card is easy but may find you need new clips, cheap enough from dealer or get a bag full from ebay.
