Mine did this a few years back and it was the sensor in the windscreen had come loose.

Take of the rear view mirror by pushing it towards the dash, be careful as the mirror is attached by wires. This is how mine comes of but mine is the Exclusive with auto dim dip mirror, not sure of other models.

Hope that makes sense.

I thought they all did as well, does it say auto on the light switch (button on the end)?

How else could the lights be coming on, on there own during the day?

Did you check to see if sensor was loose?

If not as said could be the comms unit.

As said, LX on both phase 1 and phase 2 C5s didn't have automatic lights. If its an LX and this is happening then its most likely the comms2000. If it has auto lights do as waynedance suggests. If that is ok try turning off the auto lights (with the ignition on, press and hold the end of the light stalk until it beeps) and see if they still turn on.

Thats interesting thing Chris, If design is Base level, where does LX come in? Mums 2005 Phase 2 Design HAS got AUTO Lights..

The COMMS 2000 is the unit behind the steering wheel with the light and wiper stalks on it which also has the steering angle on it. Its common for playing up and causeing all sorts of issues.

As for your Temp guage - that will be the Temp Sensor on the engine..
