Xsara Ignition Switch / General Switch variants

Took my Xsara (non Picasso) switch apart in the hope to fix dead blower circuit. Unfortunately no success to get to reliably to work. Citroen quoted me £135 for new switch but with lock (probably no keys...) and they can't be sold separately. Clearly they must make a lot of spare part sales this way... I refused, needless to say.

Units on e-bay don't seem to have the right connectors/colours of wires on them.

Does anybody know if the interior of these crude plastic switches (i.e. the switch pattern and mechanics) is the same or are there variants? If they are the same I would make myself a new cable assy to go with one.

Mine has brown and black wires only, e-bay version have all sorts of colours.

Any other place (UK) to look for a switch? euro-spares or allparts or so?
