Depolution System Fault C5

Post by micky707 »

Well ive had the C5 now for a little over a week and apart from a couple of niggles which ive sorted i am very pleased, i look forward to going out in it.
Any how went out this morn to a pals house and when i got back in it to go home the engine management light came on, so not bad really, i got a week out of it! The fault came up with Depolution fault, so i done a google on it and although ive done a fair bit of motorway driving i havent booted it, someone mentioned that you need to give it some wellie and go past 3000rpm which i did and bingo light went out, how cool is that, so im back to being a happy bunny, until tomorrow when ive got to have my shoulder operated on :( , that means no driving for 6 weeks. Still I can look out the window and look at it.
So if anyone has the same problem, that is worth a try...... :-D

Don't let the battery drain too low or you will have hours of fun resetting it...
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

My c5 has only 53k on clock the light only comes on if I boot it over 3000rpm, then goes off after an hour! So Im having the dpf removed and remapped £400!

It's usually this that brings on the light. A vacuum leak / duff electro valve causes overboost and this in turn brings up the anti-pollution message. Mine does it very occasionally, and that's had the dpf removed already. In fact I'm trying to source some replacement tubing (to help cure the vacuum leak) and was about to post a question............
