noise when pressing clutch

I have a picasso 1.6 petrol 52 plate and when i press or depress the clutch it makes a noise ive got shards of metal inbet ween the engine and gear box i can select all gears still just a noise when press or depress clutch any ideas

Could be your clutch release bearing starting to sieze by the symptoms you describe :?:
On my 4th Citroën Xantia (X2 HDi (110))

Or the release bearing is chewing through the pressure plate. Either way, it is box out time....

I did think it might need new clutch but didnt want pull everything out first just incase so wanted know what other thought first thanks for your response it looks like i am going to be busy.

you'll probably need the bearing support tube as well, they get chewed up usually. (cheap from ECP)
