citroen C8 Vehicle immobiliser fault message

Post by stevahe »

Hellooo Friends , My vehicle is a Citroen C8 2003 Automatic Model . The car starts fine but will not go into any gear at all. the vehicle is absolutely stationary. Does anyone know what might be the problem. I also have another c8 Citroen automatic model 2004. so am I considering swapping parts to get the 2003 model working first then sort out the 2004 later.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem will be as I am suspecting oil, pump , fuel or a fuse on C8 Citroen 2003 automatic Please help. Any suggestions will help. thanks in advance

Does the display on the dash show the gear position changing as you move the lever through the various positions ?

I have just checked the car now. No the display on the dash does not show any sign of the gear being moved across the various gear positions. thanks

Is the cable still connected to the lever on the gearbox & is it still moving at the gearbox end when you move the lever inside ?

When i say cable i mean mechanical cable not electrical cable. There is a metal cable that connects the gear lever on the dash to a lever on the gearbox that selects the gears. It souds like this cable is either broken or disconnected at one of the ends.

I have opened the gear box cover and checked all the internal wires and cables. They appear ok and well connected and I also noticed that the gear box changes are actually being registered on the dash as opposed to my earlier observations. so it is ok as it changes the gears and it reflects on the dashboard. So my next step will be to check under the bonnet and report back my findings. thanks

Please Help. I have used a scanner code reader to find out the vehicle fault and it reads Generic fault code :U0404 MEANING Invalid data received from gear shift control module.

Please help with what it actually mean and exactly what to do . Thanks
