Citroen C5 1.6 HDi P0470 fault code

Post by White-Horse »

Hi!
I recently bought a Citroen C5 1.6Hdi mk2, after 3000 miles i got an antipollution fault. I have a elm327 scanner and i got 2 different pending fault. One of them is P0470 and a second is P1351. I know the P0470 fault is an exhaust back sensor, but my question is where to locate this sensor?
Thanks for answers!

Your exhaust sensor can be found by following the pressure pipes coming out of the DPF filter, this is below the turbo at the front of the engine . The pipes start off stainless steel, then change to rubber, and then go to the sensor.
What you need to know is if the sensor is faulty or the DPF is blocked.
The other fault is saying you have a glow plug issue, this will not bring on the anti pollution fault light.

In 2 days ago In the service they checked the DPF and it was on 57%, so probably it is fine, I haven't got any power loss or anything.
How can I find out wich glow plug?
Thanks!

DONT TOUCH the glow plugs!

If it starts on all four LEAVE IT! I know this myself when I went to change my sisters heater plugs in her C4 (SAME engine) the heater elements snapped off IN the head!! So, LEAVE them alone......

Just a bit of friendly advice so you dont get stuck and need to strip the head off to get them out...

It is start first time always! No problem with starting at all. The car running smooth, just interesting, why it is a pending fault?

One of the plugs have gone open curcuit... like old ones used to.. but because its a direct injection, they start well with little heater plug help..

No idea....what sensor is it, what's it connected to? You need to get it on a Lexia computer to see what the sensor is actually reading to determine if the sensor reading has gone haywire, or the DPF is actually blocked as Lighty says. Take it for a drive and see if you can get it to re-gen the filter and see if the readings change.

It is re-gen itself, i read somewhere lexia doesn't work with C5, so I used elm327 to read the fault code.

It is probably the exhaust pressure sensor, but I'm not sure.
