c3 1.4 HDI 16v front driver side brake sticking

Post by jinson »

my car (reg:YT03 VTW, citroen c3 exclusive 1.4 HDI 16v 90 PS (DIESEL)
was got a problem 3 weeks ago,
the front driver side brake sticking and hot,
I have just replaced a new calliper in front driver side.
it is getting better now, but the problem seems still there.
while I drive it for while (the car and wheel hub warmed up),
, when I turn the car to left or right,
a squeezing(brake pads to disk without tap brake pad) sound
occurs from driver side (I cannot tell exactly from or rear).

I've bought a new speed sensor and going to replace the front right abs sensor,
if it does work, then next step I am going to change the bearing,
if still does not work, I am thinking about to change the ABS module.

does anyone here have the similar experience or any sugestions ?

The caliper , when replacing, only usually comes with the piston, which you then bolt onto the caliper mount with two 13mm bolts (spanner size) . It is the sliders that these bolts go into that seize, and not the caliper itself.
Usually the only way to repair is to remove these sliders and clean them meticulously, or replace the caliper mount itself.
