Xsara VTS - Estate
Just thinking really, and wondered about the viability of buying both a Xsara VTS and an Estate, and transplanting the running gear from the VTS into the Estate.
Has it been done before?

Re: Xsara VTS - Estate
It would certainly make a great sleeper if kept stock looking , I can't see it being a major job .

Re: Xsara VTS - Estate
Since reading this, I have seen loads of Xsara estates & they are a really nice looking car, I like estates in general anyway. I think you should do it!

Sounds interesting and you can pick up a 1.6 petrol Xsara estate for next to nothing. Can't beat a sleeper!

Re: Xsara VTS - Estate
they did the 2l 16v estate 138bhp iirc?? so fitting shouldnt be a problem at all, and running gear should be pretty similar! would make a cracking car, especially with Turbo D side badges!

Re: Xsara VTS - Estate
It would be nice to see a Pug ripped to bits for its engine rather than a Citroen for a change if you do go ahead with it .

Re: Xsara VTS - Estate
To be honest I'd look at the 155 engine and it should drop straight in.
Use the petrol gearbox but maybe see about moving the 5th for a hdi110 into the petrol box so it cruises better as well

Re: Xsara VTS - Estate
Looking closer at the pattern Timmo I think you're right and they are Resolfens...Timmo wrote:They are the C4 vts ones arnt they??
Shows how big the cars have got - in some cases the Resolfens look small on the C4s, whilst on that Xsara they look huge...!
