main hydrolic warning lights flickering on and of

Post by jacksun1987 »

Was driving home last nite from work. Did my normal thing started the car waited couple of seconds. Started driving off. Then the warning lights starting comming on and off. Half way i didnt see them come on.
Have noticed the steering become a bit pulsaty waveyIand i noted a slight noise when i break. Do the warning lights also do the front breaks ?
hope it just needs topping up
cheers

I think you've answered your own question. Good idea to start by checking the hydraulic fluid level on whatever vehicle you have.

car on level ground, start engine, put suspension lever to the highest setting, wait for the car to settle all the way up,

look at sight glass on hydraulic tank, the yellow disc ( some people call it orange ) should be between the two red bands,

there are two discs the lower copper one is just the short the terminals out in the bottom off the level indicator,
which puts the stop and low citro blood level warning light on if the fluid gets to low

Yep i done the normal stuff The marker was down at the bottom. Bit of bad news There was hydrolic oil all over the drivers side wheel Wheel arch even on the tyer . One of the pipes near the top of the wheel arch as gone. There was patches of oil on the floor Hope its not a costly job. Spayed engine degrease and hosed it down. It was all right driving it back with the oil topped up.
Could it be the pipe for the breaks or suspension or a return pipe
thanks

Sounds like a strut return pipe, they can get pulled off the inboard end or they snap or split, I once did a temporary fix with a short piece of brake pipe, not difficult or expensive to replace.

An easy job; do both as they age similarly.

phoned up bullwinkles If it is the strut return pipe he can bang it on there for bout 30 pound. But if its something else he says they don't make most of the parts now hard to get hold of. So im begging it is something basic
