I have an 03 reg c3. 1.4hdi, 16 valve exclusive with aircon.
Anyway, after buying it I discovered the aircon didn't work and a charge didn't fix it. It transpires the cooling fan is not working.
Furthermore today I found out that someone has put tape covering the tempreture lights that should illuminate when the car overheats.
I've had a diagnostic from Citroen, they state I should get a new fan and that might fix it.
Basically on turning the key, the car starts as normal, but 30 seconds later, I get three beeps and the temp gauge jumps straight to max on hearing the three beeps.
I've changed the temp sensor.
I've driven the car in very heavy traffic.
And also, I have another fully functioning c3, the same model but a year younger, and the cooling fan never seems to kick in even when stationary and up to temperature and then left for half hour or so. But that car works fine. It appears the fan on that car only uses the fan for aircon.
But anyway, I've ordered a fan from a scrappy, should arrive on Thursday.
But does that sound like a fan fault, I just don't get the lights all lighting up after 30 seconds.
The fan is receiving 12 volts apparently, and lexia couldn't force the fan on.
