Citroen ZX Radiator Bleed Screw

Post by angle »

Hi,

I have a ZX 1.6 and a few weeks ago gave it a coolant change, I thought successfully. However, I've now noticed that once the temperature hits 90-ish, coolant starts leaking from around the bleed screw on the top of the radiator (passenger side) - this one:

I've tried reseating it, taking it off and cleaning it up etc, all to no avail. Its not losing loads (about a pint over 750 miles) but as next door's cat likes hanging around in our driveway I'd quite like to stop it. I'm assuming the next thing to try is to replace the screw (the rubber seal about halfway down it is quite hard which I'm assuming can't help), but I've got no idea where I can get one from. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks for any help in advance.

If you can post up the last 8 digits of the VIN, somebody with access to the Citroen Service system will be able to get you the right part number. I cannot, as I don't have access. There may be a slight delay while most of them get home from Kettering.

Not shown as a separate part against your VIN, but other models do list a separate part that might fit (although there are different Nos for Valeo and Behr rads...):

1306 77
RADIATOR DRAIN PLUG
DIAM 14
VALEO (THERMIQ) - -
£3.66
1306 A1
PLUG
BEHR FRANCE - -
£2.59
Same part as the drain plug

Thanks Richard - the Valeo part fits perfectly.
