service light

Hi, how are you all ... to be honest am pretty happy with my C5 ( 2003 reg, 2l HDi ) .. however, sometime the service light comes up while am driving... and when it does, the acceleration goes down dramatically, car feels 3 times heavier ... and if i turn off the engine and start again in few seconds or a minute, Service light is gone and the power is back again ... any idea ?

P.S: I recently serviced, changed oil filter, air filter, glow plugs, engine oil etc.. however the oil filter i received from Eurocar parts, and the ribbon it came with seemed a bit smaller than my existing one ... hence it started dripping diesel at first when i started but then the mechanic put the old ribbon and it was fine then...

I don't see fuel filter in the list of things you've changed, it could be blocked.

The only way to know for sure what the fault was though instead of guessing is to put it on a Lexia. See the following thread:

oh changed fuel filter too... just forgot to mention.. I been moaning to the only people in london wid Lexia but all of them seems to be busy .. so ill try my lick checking with the owners manual :/
