Even if they can physically fit the first problem I can see is seatbelt pre tensioners. On the xsara they are in the stalk that the belt plugs into & on the C5 they are part of the inertia reel with the belt. I doubt the xsara stalk will fit onto the C5 seat.

having had a xsara and currently driving a C5, I'll be astonished if they would physically fit - the C5 is a much bigger car. Strangely enough I prefered the xsara seats - always seemed more supportive. I feel like i'm sliding around at times on the C5 seats.

Depends what C5 seats you are asking about. I've no idea whether they will fit, but the C5 X7 seats are totally different to the Phase 1 and facelift ones. They are 100% more supportive if you are talking bolster side and back lateral support. I found my phase 1 C5 seats too flat, with negligable bolsters but the X7 is a different class.

I'm looking to install the newer type C5 (2008->) seats on my Xsara. So from what I have gathered so far, possible issues are connecting the airbags and fitting xsara stalks to C5 seats. Has anyone done this swap yet? I am wondering whether the airbag connectors will match or they can even be connected, will the systems work mixed?

You might be better off trying to fit the C5 seat frame onto the Xsara tracks/support.

Have you sourced the seats?
I can't imagine they'd be cheap, even second-hand.

The C5 X7 seats are 22.5 inches (570mm) wide and from floor to top of headrest approx 39 inches ( 1 MTR). Will they fit into you car?. As said, they won't be cheap, assuming you can source a set. They are as rare as hens teeth.

Forgot to measure the depth, but you will probably have very limited space for rear passengers.

Xsara seat base (plastics) is 560mm wide. There's 10mm space to the console and more to the door. Seat height from floor to top of headrest is 103cm (96cm folded). Depth is 61cm, it wont be issue for me cause I drive the car mainly to work only so there's almost never passengers.

Seat rail mounting bolts are 485mmx245mm pattern and mounts are about 9cm from floor. I can redo the mounts sure if needed. It's the electrical stuff that worries me...

At the moment I have a set of front seats and one driver seat only that I can get my hands on, and I'm hoping to figure out if they can be fitted before they go! So good advice is appreciated.

Rails would appear to be 460mm Centres. Don't know about the electrics but I assume you would need to move the rails if they are the same type, or fit suitable ones from an X7.
