Amazingly on mine too ive not got the rust issue that they normally suffer from either.

The thing i still like is even the turbo is still quiet and not making any more then useual noises...

My record from a HDi is 273k :D

There is an XUD 405 estate turbo that was last seen to have 460k on its clock!

I'm feeling confident at 87k then. :

What's the cambelt change interval, and what else is changed with it?

Excellent Paul!

My 2.1 XM is on around 205k at the moment. It will take a few years to get up to 250k, only gets used 6 months a year and only really drive it on the weekends. lol I sound like it's my mid life crisis car which I'm using on my 50k/year job! Far from both in reality though!

10 years or 100k. Change the water pump at same time, and probably the tensioners as well - although mine were fine at 110k, I had a kit so changed them anyway. Inspect the crank pulley whilst it's off, and renew if starting to fall apart. Probably due a new aux belt as well whilst it's off. If it's a Xantia 110 then inspect the bush in the inner wing torque link whilst it's off, and renew if that is falling apart.

Seriously Paul, good effort!

Mike, get an XM - you'll have plenty to talk about then
I'd end up tearing my hair out with another XM. I'd like a V6 Xantia again as long as it steered right.

For now a nice TD would be pleasant enough. I did have fun in the MX5 on my way home at 6.30am today. Roof down, sun out. I said I'd not have another Xantia but I really do miss the old beasts.

Mine passed 147k this morning - it had 47k on it when I bought it, so that's 100k up in my hands. Engine fine, body starting to suffer, so I suspect the tin worm will get it long before the engine is toast!!

Got a nice Silver one here for you Mike, steers and rides beautifully, only 105k. Might need some minor engine and gearbox work though...
