Fitting new alloys and tyre sensors?

Post by waynedance »

If I fit new alloys can you fit the sensors to the new wheels?

Has anyone done this?

Does it matter if you go up a size, would sensors still work?

I assume you already have them, they can be transferred, cant see the wheel size making any difference.

Shouldn't make any difference. Mine are set to alarm if the pressure drops more than10 PSI I think .
The new tyres wouldn't be more than 10 psi lower than the old ones? The pressure range might make the alarm go off if the sensors are pre-set for a pressure range and your new tyres are a lot different.
Not sure about your car, but my sensors are tyre specific, just in case you want to mark them.

Sometimes the change doesn't work.
