Hi All,
Since I've had my Xantia V6 the service indicator that appears during key on has always flashed zero, so as I completed an engine oil and filter change on the weekend (and have done fuel filter and air filter quite recently) I decided it was time to reset the service indicator which is done by holding down the reset button for a while while turning the key on.
What has me slightly puzzled though is that the only option seems to be 12,500 miles, which seems far too long to me ? Certainly too long for an oil and filter change, so what exactly is the 12,500 mile interval for ? Is it only meant for dealer services during the warranty period, if so what is it that's being checked or done at 12,500 mile intervals ?
Doesn't seem particularly useful to me, I was hoping the interval would be appropriate for oil and filter changes to help me remember to do them on time...

Re: Xantia service interval display ?
the C5 V6 one is 30,000km so over 18,000miles... I believe the service book reckons 30,000km or 2 years for service intervals. Not that I'd stick to it
I did notice when I was fiddling with the lexia, that there did seem to be a configuration option that allowed you to change it (the interval that is, not the countdown). So possibly something you could change to suit your needs.

Re: Xantia service interval display ?
Yikes, 18,000 miles for oil and filter ? Even 12,500 miles is way too much. I don't think there's any option to change it on the ES9J4 Ben, I've been over the ECU's in the car with a fine tooth comb and would have noticed such a setting by now.
I wonder if the counter also changes to zero after a certain number of starts, or a certain period of time, or whether it purely counts mileage ?

Re: Xantia service interval display ?
The service indicator just counts the miles. It is also a function of the dash module, I'm using the dash module from a 2.1td (6,500 miles service interval) in my HDi (originally 12,500 service interval) so it is showing a 6,500 mile service interval. I will have to investigate whether I can reprogramme it with my Lexia.
Re: Xantia service interval display ?
As far as I know a Lexia can't communicate with the dash module of a Xantia, as it doesn't have an ECU that presents itself on the diagnostics bus. I think you'll find its very simplistic and the service interval is hard wired in the chip or at least with a jumper on the board!

Re: Xantia service interval display ?
Thanks Simon, I won't bother investigating and save myself hours of endless frustration - I can get a bit obsessive once I've started this sort of thing

the HDi and V6 are set to 12.5k so it's not different between models, I change my oil every 6k so i change it halfway through it's countdown
