there are a couple of citroen dealers in the area down here if you need any spares etc. and we do now have an ECP in truro if so should be required, Oh, and as soon as you hit the A30 form the M5 be prepared for Hills!!! ;-)

Clean your wiper blades with a little carwash detergent in warm water, and soft Scotchbrite. This will remove the skin of hardened, dried rubber and reveal if they are about to disintegrate.

Make sure all the abrasive residue is fully washed off, before setting the blades back against the glass.

Not really a massive journey, so your work so far should be OK. Enjoy your holiday in Newquay, I like it. You should tour around a bit, it's a lovely county.

Check your tyre pressures (and spare).

Hehe! Living down here (born here) you get used to the backwards ways of the transport system! Apparently the section at Temple is not a Priority in the improvements, Nor is the Other bit between the truro roundabouts!

Newquay isn't bad as a Base, but the towns a biyt erm.....
Born in St austell (that's not Much better!!) And moved west, this end is Much nicer!

I worked in St Austell in 1972! I suspect it has changed a bit.
We were installing and testing a new telephone line (pre-co-axial, pre-fibre optic and pre-broadband) between Newquay and Truro exchanges.

Newquay then was quite a nice town, a but lively of an evening, whilst Truro was quiet and more genteel. We were based in Trevarick hall in St Austell and had a great time down there. I went back a couple of years ago when we were staying at Plaidy near Looe but although the old apartments were shown on google maps, I couldn't find it as it had changed so much.

We used to spend weekends touring around in an old Morris Cowley, to places like Mevagissy, Fowey, Penzance etc. with the occasional jaunt to Padstow and other north coast places. Happy days.
Then the buggers transferred me to Yeovil.

We have use of a villa in Plaidy when we want, but it's a long long way from North-east Scotland.
Rick.

'72 is about the time my pops came down, iirc he worked at Teddingtons then, sadly, i wasn't born until '78 though! ;-)
Newquay has changed a Lot, its always been known for surfing, and entertainment, - was Cornwall's first location for a pole dancing club!! it doesn't come with a particularly good reputation amongst the locals though, the Police are Working very hard to clean it up though, create a more family orientated atmosphere about it,
St.Austells just expanding ridiculously, in the usual well thought out way, there are no spaces at any of the schools, doctors, dentists in the area but its Good for the economy to throw in another 4500 houses!

i moved west for my job and instantly noticed the difference in people, they actually talk to you!! just a lot more relaxed and pleasant, and a lot more Rugged beauty to the coast!! wouldn't move back to St.A now for love nor money!!

One thing to remember to take is some spare cash for when you visit Trago mills and you see all those things you have to buy because they're so much cheaper than at home.
When I was last there they were selling doormats for £1.50 and if I could have fitted a few hundred in the car I could have turned a very nice profit, the fishing tackle and tools are also very well priced. Great cafe too.
Cheers

Cornwall has some lovely bits, and though i have been there many times I have a few places on the south coast this year to do..
