Re: *URGENT* C5 stuck on bump stops ?
I do not have a C5, or any experience of them. However, from reading the link I posted, I do know that you have to run the procedure properly for it to work. It is likely that it will also clear other problems that may exist.
How old is the battery? Again, from reading that post I also have learned that the C5 is sensitive to a failing battery.

It does whir. I don't know what the fuse looks like but I think it's 50A.

Re: *URGENT* C5 stuck on bump stops ?
The fact that the OP says the rear rises suggests the motor is probably working. I wonder if something has happened to the front height unit? My other guess (and yes, I do mean guess) is that there may be air in the front lines (if the reservoir level had dropped low enough). It might be worth checking out the procedure for bleeding the suspension.

zs&tas:
Where are you based? Is there someone nearby you with a Lexia? check the list here... there are actuator tests that can be run for raising etc, so at least you should be able to hear the motor running whilst the tests are being performed.
It *may* also give more information about the fault too, rather than guessing.
The motor has a rather distinctive sound, that you normally can easily hear after the car has been locked for a while and you (unlock and) get in as it auto-levels.

Obviously you won't now, but if someone climbed in the back you'll still hear it as it raises the back up to adjust to the extra weight.zs&tas wrote:rear dosnt rise any more - thats just what happened at the first bit, now there is no movement atall. ben82 thought that is the noise usually the front adjusted when i unlocked. i cant here it now.
If you have your VIN to hand, post up (or PM me) the last 8 digits and I'll look it up for you otherwise it *should* be in the owners manual too.zs&tas wrote: pretty sure the motors not doing anything. does anybody know where the fuse is located ?

Re: *URGENT* C5 stuck on bump stops ?
Unfortunately looking it up shows two issues:
1) My copy of the software seems to be lacking the actual diagrams for you car combination (not too big of an issue, just can't tell you exactly where the fuse is)
2) The only relevant fuse I can find is Fuse F8 (20amp), part of the BSI fuses (in the glovebox most likely), but this fuse covers the following: Switch module at the steering wheel - Trailer relay unit - multifunction screen - suspension control unit - radio - Radiotelephone transceiver
So if the radio etc is working then I would think the fuse is ok.
Unfortunately it seems like members with a lexia are at least 30mins away from you
EDIT: Misread the BSI fusebox page.... it seems like it should be in the glovebox fuses! (going by the Mk1 and the 2007 handbook that's available online).

Re: *URGENT* C5 stuck on bump stops ?
Sorry to say this but I think all the replies so far have been too optimistic, I fear you have a failed suspension pump.
You should hear it run as soon as you unlock the car, just a short whirring noise as the car raises from its settled position and of course if there's a leak on the high pressure side you'd hear it running all the time and you'd have a puddle of the red stuff under the car.
The master fuse you're looking for is on the underside of the fuse box, the one in the engine compartment, but it's unlikely to be that easy and if that fuse has blown you need to ask 'why?' The answer will almost certainly be an internal short in the pump.
