But you can do it by unscrewing the track rod at the hub end though i presume?

HI

I'm finally going to get round to replacing the track rod boots on the left and right hand side of the car, as well as replacing the left side track-rod. However, I'm confused about the tool I need to get the track rods off- some kind of hex? can anyone give me more information, photos etc?

Larry, see jims second pict on the first page of this thread..
there is a castellated section of the track rod, thats your port of call..

a thin type of wench, like jim's, and you should be lucky..

In serious, regarding jim's wrench, i looked into getting one here in Spain but they are over 100€. Cant i improvise with something else?
