C8 2,2 Hdi no dialogue with ECU

Post by hanskj »

Hi I ´ve bought a citroen C8 2,2 hid VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] very cheap with a starting problem as in its a non starter the engine doesn´t run. i´ve sourced it down to the BSM box that was badly corrode due to water ingress. I´ve changed it with a known good one (used) and connected my lexia to the car but it won't dialogue with the engine ECU and the ABS ecu. and i´ve tried several times. its now in economy mode active. is it possible to get it out of eco mode when the engine won´t run ? I´ve also cleaned the three connecters on engine ecu and the earthing points near it.

Hope you can help me / Hans

hi

as far as i know fitting just new or 2nd hand bsi unit will not work

you will need ecu-bsi-transponder from known working car
lad i know had his hdi knacked by rac rescue they knacked bsi
he ended up baying all 3 items and got it running again
i hope this is wrong

was the BSM damage caused by flood damage/car being submersed in water??

if so maybe the ECU's with no dialogue have had water ingress also,

the other thing to try might be the impact cut out switch, try just pressing the button on top of it,

Due to rain! I've been told that its a common problem with c8 due to that the BSM is right under the front windscreen

No inertia switch fitted on a C8

Although the fuse box is right under the drain the fuse box it's quite well sealed, the main problem is people not fitting the cover back on properly.
