One of my bulbs has conked so it looks odd at night.

With a blunt ish instrument prise out the bottowm of the black plastic trim to remove that, be careful of the TM led if yours has it, the dispaly is then removed by undoing the 2 torx screws, did mine a few weeks ago.

The bulbs are 1.2 Watts, preferably with a white or clear base, so as not to reduce the diffusion of light.

It really is as easy as said above to remove the top dash display.

What model car do you have? pressing the button on the end of the wiper stalk should cycle through the menu, I do not think the LX has a fuel computer hence the single line smaller display.

That's step 1 of my question answered before I even ask! Having swapped my (presumed misfunctioning) colour display for another, neither appears to work, so I guess the problem lies with whatever box drives the display. Can anyone tell me where it is and how to extract it? I have a 2.2HDi exclusive, with sat-nav, and there's nothing on the display at all, although there is a brief flash from the backlight when I switch the ignition on. The radio works, but I can't see which station I'm on, nor do I get any of the useful messages that tell you why the STOP light just came on!
