Xantia 110HDi Hydraulic clutch removal!

Post by BA-CAM »

Hi,
Xantia 110HDi Hydraulic clutch removal!
Can anyone tell me how you remove the Mastercylinder from the bulkhead?
The car is being scrapped and I'm hoping is still on the back of the lorry ready to be taken away [-o<
I tried to remove this but gave up
I then looked on here and realised that they are around £400 to replace if you can get one
Any Help would be great :-D
Thanks,
Bryan.

Hi Bryan,

I can but I'm going to have to consult some manuals on the subject later. I know there's a special too you need, one I believe is easily made, to do the job as you need to release a clip..

I'll go do some research and return soonest.

It's worth doing as the hydraulic clutch assembly is very expensive and valuable...

Hi Jim,
Hold your horses!
The car went to be weighed in Yesterday #-o
I don't need it,I was just going to remove it as a spare for either myself or sell on to a forum member in need of it.
Thanks again,
Bryan.

No Worries Bryan,

Luckily you've rescued the most valuable bit in the form of the slave cylinder... The master cylinder is normally very reliable and I personally have not known one go yet...

Hi Jim,
I never removed it from the car just from the gearbox, couldn't get the master out of the bulkhead
The Haynes manual was very vauge about a special tool so left the whole lot in situ'
I finally looked on here and found out how expensive they are then asked the original question.
I was hoping to remove it all, but couldn't contact my friend quick enough to stop him taking her away.

DOH!

SO EASY to do... after popping the rod off the pedal, you then simply use your hands as a special tool!!!

SERIOUSLY! It only twists out of the bulkhead just like the slave!

Ive got a couple... One in the shed, another on a car still to strip next year sometime at this rate!!
