Radio Code help would be appreciated
I have a Citroen badged portuguese made Blaupunkt radio PH1(C) 1996 vintage in a xantia
marked with
96 133 457 80 and BP2775T9625039
in hand writing it has both 4244 and 0244 which I took to be the code.
neither of which work unless I have the procedure wrong.
I have tried both of these and it just looks at me is there another button I should be pressing .
Other xantia radios I have had just operated once the correct code is entered
If anyone out there has the software to check the code or can advise me how to get this working I would be most grateful.
Thanks for reading my plea for help.
cheers Patrick

I don't know if it's relevant, but on my '96 Xants, I have to press button #6 to CONFIRM after entering the code on buttons #1 to #4 otherwise the radio will not operate.

Patrick, if it's the standard S1 Xantia wireless then there's code decoders out there on the 'net to decode via the serial number..
I had one but now I no longer have any Windows it's now long gone but I'm sure someone else can advise where to find it and how to use it.

Re: Radio Code help would be appreciated
Sad to report no joy
When re-connected it displayed 4 dashes nothing seemed to bring up a code request
so left it on at least 2 hrs and was then showing 4 0's rather than a code message.
I probably should have turned it off and on again however I put in the code and then pressed the 6
which took it back to the dash's again
so back in your hands again I am afraid.

Re: Radio Code help would be appreciated
I think you need to hold one button down for a few seconds to get it to go to 'CODE'
After x attempts it will lock itself though.
On some models they have a test mode too (Clarion at least) where it will work without the code (yes really) but only for 10 minutes and will not save any settings etc either, as well as make odd bleeps every now and again. Those ones I could decode in my head from studying the labels on it. The 'test' mode can come on with one button too by holding it so don't confuse that with it working.

Thanks Guy
looks as though the Code 4244 is the right one
All I have to do is get it in properly.
or get it so that it is asking me for the code.
now that i Know how to put it in correctly.

Thanks Mike
Unfortunately the radio is still showing 4 dashes rather than the CODE message.
So I have pulled the power from it. I do not know how long it will take for the memory to decay several days I suspect
So does anyone know if there are connections in the plug that can be shorted to speed up the process?
cheers Patrick

Re: Radio Code help would be appreciated
My radio is different model, but if it's in lock-out mode, due to unsuccessful attempts, you have to leave the radio switched on! for the time limit to expire, before it unlocks again and asks for CODE. This meant me changing fuse shunt to radio always on, turning on the radio, locking the car then going indoors for an hour or so.
Re: Radio Code help would be appreciated
If it has a BND (band) button, try holding that down for a few seconds. That should take it from the 4 dashes back to asking for a code if the code has been entered wrong. At least it does on my Clarion!

Re: Radio Code help would be appreciated
It's several years since I last played with a Blaupunkt radio, but I too seem to remember that you have to leave it switched on and that the delay multiplies (10x?) with every unsuccessful attempt.
If you finally have to give up on it, I've got a spare that came out of a 1996 sx. No, I don't know what the code is off-hand!

Re: Radio Code help would be appreciated
The offending radio has had 2 weeks rest but still displayed the 4 dashes so was powered on and left.
It was asking for a code again after a couple of hours.
But still will not accept the code generated by the S/W on Guy's site.
I have rechecked it again but still no joy. goes back to the dashes as soon as the "6" is pressed.
Does anyone know if a lexia can change the code on this model of radio could that have been done in the past?
cheers Patrick
ps I might well take up your kind offer Guy if it is still available how far are you from Cheltenham?

Re: Radio Code help would be appreciated
The details you quote in your first post are for what Citroen refers to as the 3030 model.
At the time it was manufactured, I'm not sure if Lexia was anything more than a thought in the mind of the designer, so no, Lexia no use.
When you get the ---- appearing, it signifies that the incorrect code has been input. Unit then locks for 1 second, then 5 seconds at second unsuccessful attempt. Further unsuccessful attempts result in lock-up for an hour.
Could be that a previous owner had lost the code and had to have the unit recoded, in which case the new code is anyone's guess
Last resort would be to get it recoded - cost me £25 couple of years back to have mine (from scrappy) recoded, which I thought a bit steep
