I run a 1996 Xantia 2.0 estate and need a new clock spring - this is the part which fits around the steering column and carries the cable connections for the airbag and the radio buttons on the steering wheel. I'm pretty sure my car is a Mk 1. The Citroen part number is 4112X7, but it's no longer available. It's crucial to get the correct part because - inevitably - the plug connectors were changed when going to the Mk2. The one I need has two different black plugs for the radio connectors (on the later version, the black plugs are identical). I have got the bloodhounds out trying to locate a spare, but if anyone knows of a specialist supplier, dismantlers, or has one in their "come in handy" box, I would be delighted to hear from them. At the moment, the air-bag light is on, and that's an MoT failure for a car which is in excellent condition despite its mileage.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Xantia clockspring
I would be inclined to give citroenxm a PM, as he does a lot of work on Xantias, and may have such a part. I have bought from him, and he makes sure the parts are properly packaged.

Post a photo on the site, I have one in the garage but as you've said different years have different connections.
If you're connectors are fine you can change them over. I've done it n the recent past.

Re: Xantia clockspring
the part changed in 1996 when the airbag ecu moved from the steering wheel to the console and again in 2000. late mk1s and most mk2s use the same part.
