C5 2002 pollen Filter

Post by MaxPrimal »

Might be a dumb ass question: But I need to change my pollen filter for a new one. Looking on Ebay there are various ones for a 2002 C5 (mine is a 16V 2.L Auto) but some say they only fit the HDI, some are for Estates etc.

Surely the pollen filter on the 2002 C5 is the same irrespective of what model/body shape it is? Am I right? I ask cause on every other car I have had recently (A 2.2 DCI Primera and a Fiat Maera) the filters are standard fit regardless. The Primera is the same whether petrol/diesel estate/hatchback, similarly the Fiat was the same as the Bravo/Brava which where the saloon/hatchback versions of the car where the Maera was the estate. The front end body was the same and the cabin/dashboard the same upto the drivers seats when it then took on the appropriate shape.

Can someone just confirm this or do I have to get a filter specific to the 2.0ltr 16v petrol?

Cheers
Max

There are two numbers for the C5 I 6447HT without air con and 6447HV with air con but it seems the w/o air con one has in any case been replaced by the other one

For the C5 II they call it a charcoal filter and the number is 6447TL
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

All MK1 C5,s have the same pollen filter, regardless of the body style. The filter has the plastic end cap attached to,it, so is easily recognisable . You can fit the active carbon type (best) or the cheaper paper type. This is a carbon one

Thanks for this. I assumed they where all the same but it is always best to be safe than sorry. I will order a carbon one as I know from experience they tend to be better and I know the one in there at the moment is carbon as well.

Thanks again

I have just fitted one of the £5.00 to my C5, much better then the old one which came out.

Carparts4less do the a activated carbon one for £10.99 (Using code saveme75 at check out) http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/search/507545068/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Carparts4less is just EuroCarParts but cheaper.
