Yea.. dont be inclined to go over board incase you rip out a thread or two.. all your weight is far enough really. Never had issues with that before..

Thanks for that citroenxm! The bolt was still giving if you know what I mean, and I was using a torque wrench(21in) with a large comfortable grip and longer than my breaker bar(16in). I usually tighten up until the "give" stops!! Didn't want to strip it - but I only weigh 70K - so it still wouldn't be a lot!!! On a different tack. how do I remove the engine fuse box, have removed the rear bolt but something is attached on the n/s inner wing side and I cannot see what! I am trying to remove the positive battery loom which is in a dire condition. Thanks for any info!

Ok.. if you get the relays out and move the plugs etc out the way you should find the 10mm bolts buried down under all the other wires etc..

citroenxm wrote:#its the Vaccum valve for the Pump Advance when the car is cold. It runs off a Vaccum controled by an Electro valve, rather then the Wax Stat that was perfectly good enough for years.

John, if the car starts perfectly and runs nicely, I wouldn't worry about it for now at all...
Just thought I'd update this bit, because the valve makes a big difference to driving, and you can only limp about with it malfunctioning:

I believe its called the 'LDA manifold pressure compensator' - controls delivery quantity as a function of charge air pressure.
There were a choice of three when I replaced mine, and I had to have the old one ready to match up.
It made all the difference to fuel boost, and hence driving.
