Poor mpg since replacement engine C5 2.2 Mk1

Post by waynedance »

Had a replacement engine fitted from a Pug 607, new clutch, new maf, new dual mass, filters, used original turbo & injectors from old engine. Engine came with the filter housing and pipes in place, engine was complete. Exhaust filter removed and jet washed out as well.

Seem to be using more fuel than before, reset trip before trip to work and getting 35mpg instead of 43mpg and fuel gauge dropping faster.

Any ideas where to look next, car is running fine apart from fuel consumption.

2009 Renault Megane, the misses drive.
Had a 1988 BX 19TRS Auto many moons ago.
Forgive any spelling mistakes, it's the phone not me.

Usually the advice is to bung on the Lexia, read the codes (which is good advice of course), but in the meantime - something I've found a difference and that I'm hoping to check out this weekend is the vacuum pipe system. I know it's only a start idea until someone knowledgeable comes along but can you be 100% that they are all good and not mis-routed since the lump was swapped? Mixed blessing that the car is running well otherwise :?
Just a thought anyway.
