Where to plug in a Lexia on a Xantia

Post by charentejohn »

Well, I fell at the first fence.....................

Went to use this finally and so looked everywhere for a socket, checked the forum and best general idea was the fuse box.
So I finally found it, I think, as yhere is an orange socket in there (race track oval shape) which could be it.

Great I thought, so got out the lexia leads and............ nothing even similar, so what goes where.
Unfortunately I can't find a single document that says what to plug in where.

I ger the, from the lexia box to PC is the USB connector.
Then the other side is a large connector to either a pair of battery clamps and a 2 pin plug, where does that go ??

Should have read up more before starting, any help appreciated as car off the road for 2 weeks and finally decide to check it out and - d'oh.

I thought so but now not sure, same as in all photos of the kits. I have 5 cables and one main unit so I guess I am missing the only cable I actually need.
Mine looks like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexia-3-Diagn ... 460d01a0d4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have nothing that would fit the small socket near the fuses that is for sure, question is now where would I get one ???
Crazy to send these out with the only real cable neded missing, I must have been unlucky.

You should have a long lead with a round connector at one end (that goes to the interface box) the other end of this lead should fit the socket in your car.

All sorted, I felt around the 'race track' shaped socket and guess what it is trapezoid so the big plug fits it.......
Loos nothing like it but small lugs on the socket fit the large plug, so off we go.....

That was just an example I found showing the cables I have, bought mine through here.
Into the unknown is right, having found the plug I set it up then realised I had to set the thing up using the key generating application.
I thought it was like a lot of such software, that the key in the photos was the one you used. That is they are all ther same as the original clone.
First clue was the computer and server numbers were different.

As they say - If I knew what I was doing I would be dangerous. Well here we go again, round 3......
