It looks like you might have the same C5s that wideboyno1 has, he had issues with reading some ECUs with the one he purchased from eBay.

People here would suggest Jim @ easydiagnostics, but you're looking at £120 from him (you get a £10 discount (to £110) if you mention you're from FCF). However you could contact the seller first and state you've heard of issues with reading some ECUs of the C5 with some of the chinese clone lexias, and would they provide a *full* refund if you encounter those issues.

If they will then it's probably worth going for it.

That's seems like another to keep an eye out for

It's a shame it's so hard to tell which of the eBay ones are good and which are not not.

I've just ordered from the seller Den169 posted - I'll report back once I've received and tested it with my Xantia, probably put myself on the Lexia map cos i don't think there's anyone on it north of Glasgow - but there are surely a few members up near Aberdeen who could use a shot of it.

Just ordered from the seller den169 posted, as the guy I found can't guarantee it working on a c5 and won't do refunds

Mine arrived today, I have a quick question - seller says it will work under Windows 7 - before I try, can anyone confirm this or will I need to try and get hold of XP instead?

Diagbox works on Windows 7, but Lexia does not, best to go with xp

I may be thinking of 64bit win7 here too, have no experience in trying it on 32bit win 7 but tbh that's rarer than 64bit win 7

I have plenty of free memory on the laptop so I think I will install xp on a separate partition and then put the lexia on there.

DickieG has reported that Lexia (from the recent Diagbox versions) works in 32 bit Windows 7, I think the issue is just 64 bit windows of any variety.

As long as you have a recent version of Diagbox 6.xx that includes Windows 7 ACTIA USB device drivers (or download them separately via scarymistake's links) it should work.

Update: I was struggling with the installation last night so I contacted Artur (the seller) who dialled in using Teamviewer to see what he could do. He recommended installing a Microsoft plugin called XP Mode (for Win7) however this requires some kind of genuine windows validation thing which for reasons I won't mention here I wasn't really keen to try. So, I have wiped the laptop and am doing a fresh install of XP to see if I have more success.

Probably was a bit extreme, XP Mode is generally only for the Corporate or Ultimate editions. However any free Virtual Machine software should have done fine (VirtualBox, VMWare etc) without the need of wiping. :) ( They don't require a genuine copy of windows either ;) )
I personally use VirtualBox for mine with no issues (on my Genuine Home Premium Edition of 7 64bit).
