Evening all,
Quick question for you, I want to get the C5 serviced, its 5 years old and has covered only 28k. What service would you advise and also what is the intervals and service types for this car, only had it two weeks so very new to this!

as far as i can make out it should have been serviced about 3 to 4 thousand miles ago service intervals 12000 miles and it should be just a basic service oil filters and so on hope this helps

The car has barely done any miles since its last service at 23k in june 2012, just want to make sure its done earlier rather than later and thank you for the heads up.

Servicing is time dependent not just mileage dependent. My C5, although a bit older than yours is the 2.0 16v petrol which I think has the same engine as some of the later models. The service interval is 20000 miles or 12 months - whichever comes first. In addition to the 'standard' service intervals there are also time dependent additional checks and repacements, such as timing belt check/replacement, coolant specific gravity check/replacement, and brakefluid replacements etc. They are all dependent on driving conditions/style as well as mileage and age.
A Citroen independent (or a Haynes manual) should give you a bit more info on your particular model.
Ps, rear calipers need particular attention as in all but tow cars they tend to be under used and are prone to corrosion - or even seizing if not serviced properly.

Post-facelift C5s did not have the direct-injected HPi engine and so the units are not the same...
