Citroen c5 2.2 hdi 2002 some times when driving it won't rev I was doing 50mph to day and put my foot down and nothing fitted new maf and still the same. ajusted the throttle cable and still the same, any help please thanks

you likely have a vaccuum leak on the vac system, very difficult to find without previous knowledge and equipment, the flaps on the inlet manifold often cause problems, check if the plastic link is connected to the flaps, they break off, or the capsule doesnt work.

The butterfly swirl valve being faulty wouldn't stop the car going over 50mph, there would just be a slight difference performance wise because the car would be running on 12v as opposed to opening up to 16v at 2300rpm. When was the air filter last changed? A blocked filter would cause this problem. (and is the MAF a genuine Citroen one, members have reported poor results using aftermarket ones)

The swirl valve was new last year and the air filter the maff is from euro car parts,not Had chance to check for vac leaks yet
