diesel leak

1994 xantia 1.9 td I intend replacing or repairing the fuel filter body as I have a leak from the water drain plug can I use jubilee clips on the hoses instead of the originals, or any other suggestions many thanks

hi and welcome
you can use jubilee clips but the original ones arent that bad when you have done a few,

use either a pair of side cutters or carpenters pincers to release and re/fit them as they are just snapped together

were are you located

many thanks Malcom I thought at first glance they were crimped on.the filter body is leaking from the recess where the white water drain plug is, but not from the plug itself, I am based in France

If you can't re-use the originals, you should be able to purchase proper fuel line clips from a local motor factors for not much money. They are much like a jubilee clip except the apply a more even pressure, if not they are readily available on ebay. I also find a quick heat with a hot air gun or maybe a hair dryer makes old fuel lines much easier to remove.

To Malcolm and Evilally many thanks for your advice but I have managed to seal it insitue, if it works ok I will post the method, but dont want to count my chickens
