The C5 I towed with was the best tow car I ever had, and I've towed with a few now. Mine was a 2.2hdi 136, 03 reg. I can't see a newer hdi being anything but brilliant.

I have been dragged round most of europe in big citreons with a caravan on the back by my dad BX, (405 in between not that great), Xantia mk2, C5 mk1 (now mine) he now has a C5 mk3 and still heads off to europe with the van on the back. All been 2ltr diesels and the carvans have grown as the family have grew and his opinion is his currant c5 is better than mine same van only the 2 of them but still pull a 5 birth for the space but make sure it has cruise control as he has found it makes towing so much better and stops you speeding. Note they like to buy some wine in france so they have been well loaded on the return trip and the hydraulic suspension works its magic, when the hover craft was still running to france we had to get out of the 405 it was so full on the return soon swapped for a xantia lol
