A pukka aircraft engineer on another forum said that there are strong similarities between aircraft hydraulic/electric systems and the XM's systems.
(Probabbly not in build quality, though...)
;-))

Are aircraft technicians any better at finding the problems than factory trained Citroen dealers?

YES -
Citroen dealers train their mechanics - as part of the dealership program.
Aircraft technicians better ?
- they certainly get a much deeper/detailed education [:D]

The comparison was actually made by a 35-year veteran of aircraft engineering on another forum. And the point was "the principle" (electro-hydaulics, sensors, struts, etc) rather than the details.
