The 8v engine is what PSA should have produced first - but hey . . . The egs box on the other hand is just pure s**t!

I have to agree to disagree I have found the egs6 gearbox a dream now that I have got used to it. The only problem I find is anything below 5 degrees,s C and the clutch is very rough for the first mile or so.

You could try adjusting the bite point of the clutch - which basically means doing about 10 fast take offs in a row!

Can you explain the (which basically means doing about 10 fast take offs in a row)to adjust the clutch biting point.

When robot changers are pulled away from cold, they require a higher rev in first gear to change up to second. As engine warms, the change up will come lower down the rev range. My i shift Honda is like this.

There are 2 specific elements for the clutch for your system on the X7:
Initialisation of the Clutch Biting Point
It basically says to use the Lexia to initialise the biting point - there is a function to activate the hydraulic clutch stop to define the actual position of the stop in relation to the clutch wear.

Learning - Value of the Engine Torque Transmitted to the Clutch
This is likely what Lexi was referring to: Using a dynamic test, this function makes it possible to define the position of the clutch in relation to the engine torque transmitted. The gearbox grille and the point of loading bearing must be programmed first. :shock:

That,s all well and good but I am unable to get my Lexia to recognise the car has the egs6 gearbox, so I am unable to set or adjust anything. By the way the car is a 2011 c5 1.6 e-hdi vtr+egs6 ho and just in case anyone is interested it is Black.

Yes, got your details from your VIN already - so I've posted relevant information for your specific car Renegade.
You have to remember that officially, this is a 'sealed for life box' and the user isn't expected to perform this operation as routine maintenance. The dealer would perform this operation on a replacement gearbox or other problem where the oil needs to be drained and refilled - or by a customer request.

If you are still having the Diagbox issue - just add a new post onto the Lexia / Diagbox thread and I'll try to assist.
