It is, though some specialists have a habit of buying two of different specs - for example a completely knackered Exclusive with a good interior, and sticking it all in a good not-so-high spec one, to make a decent car out of the pair. I think this is a good thing..Citroenmad wrote:Definitely, the only way to buy an XMDeanxm wrote:if you go out set on a specific model you will either never find it or end up with a pup.

Most certainly, but your still buying on spec, you can always put in some of the easily bolted in options. Its a little more of a job to fit air con and such. Something far too many XMs did without.Rattiva_Mike wrote:It is, though some specialists have a habit of buying two of different specs - for example a completely knackered Exclusive with a good interior, and sticking it all in a good not-so-high spec one, to make a decent car out of the pair. Re: Thinking Of second Car
Well from next week with any luck ill have three xm 2.1 td manuals in my possession and when i last spoke to my landlord he was also considering selling his 2;1 sed manual on a H plate...
my 3 2;1td manuals however are all in the project stage and have no mot on any of them..
my land lords though has mot and tax and he uses it frequently...
yes i did say the C5 is modern rubbish and then list xm with their weakness but there is a massive age difference between C5 and xm. the C5 in my experience has too many niggles and you virtually need a lexia to talk to it.. the modern shape doesn't do it for me and i feel a lack of style..
perhaps Im wrong. i usually am with the C5.. but id rather an xm anyday ..

Re: Thinking Of second Car
I think the XM is a nicer car Paul but from a practical point of view the C5 suites me better, spares are readily available and generally cheap and in many areas its easier to work on - although I may change my mind if this HP diesel pump doesn't work.
