They are talking out their arses.
That's where they usually talk from in my experience

James, pleased your Mum has a settlement she's content with... How about a C5 for her?
I don't think she would go for a Citroen (even though I like them; that's probably why not!), as she did like the Volvo, and she needs the boot space. I reckon she will go for another, as she has the Haynes BoL and other Volvo related bits. 'GG' was strong, reliable, and luxurious, and all this was standard. Her only major weakness was a thirst for petrol (28MPG at best). Mum also has first hand experience of their crash worthiness; as I said earlier I doubt whether Gracie would have fared as well, or protected us to the same degree.

I've got a spare one! White, two previous owners, black leather. You'll have to come and collect it, though.

Sorry, addo, but Mum has already got a potential replacement to look at (and it is a bit more local to her!).

Well, another interesting day today. I had a job interview in Northampton this afternoon (I think it went well, but only time will tell), called into see CitroJim on the way back home (and met his daughter Robyn), and then, on the A404 between Marlow and Maidenhead (not the normal route home, but the M25 looked like it might be interesting between J16 and J15) I had an idiot who, on the Temple roundabout, realised they was in the wrong lane to turn right, and very nearly turned into me. I leaned on the horn (but not the brakes, I was alongside and ahead of them), and I still do not know why there wasn't an accident. If it wasn't for the fact I have to drive to Eastbourne tomorrow I would be having a drink.

James, it was lovely to see you yesterday :-D

I do apologise Robyn and I were so pre-occupied with culinary activities when you visited.

Fingers crossed the interview was successful [-o<

Erm, that isn't what I applied for, but nice thought. I am back in EPoS support, looking after the tills for several clients, and is what I have been doing for nearly 10 years. At least one former client likes me; I have been asked back to help at Royal Ascot again!

Well, I had an interesting few minutes today, on the way home from a call in Southampton. As I was approaching J6 M3 (Basingstoke) an HGV pulled onto the hard shoulder with the O/S/F wheel smoking heavily. Then there was a large tongue of flame as the hub nut cover (about the size of a saucer) blew off in front of me (and made it into the middle lane). My dash cam caught it (although I had the angle pointing down too far). No damage to me or my van, and the lorry driver is OK. He reckoned the bearing or brakes have failed.
