We have snow at the moment but its melted a bit and now freezing over, so will be nice driving in the morning !!!

i dont think mine will be going anywhere snow forcast until monday afternoon and its parked at the bottom of a steep hill. took me 4 days to dig my way out 2 years ago.

Wishful thinking I'm afraid. All slack in the accelerator cable does is limits the maximum throttle opening. When you press it to the floor you might be getting 70% throttle instead of 100% for example. You're still pushing the pedal the same distance to get the same throttle butterfly opening..

well, derek( oneday) did mine and I can safely say I wasn't getting anywhere near 70% as i am sure he will verify....I didn't think it would,but it honestly turned my car into a completely new machine and now I am happy to drive it....definitely worth doing.....

Well i braved the weather, I could nt wait !! The cable is now at full adjustment, The accelerator pedal is now at the same height as the brake pedal,The car is now responsive !! At last, fuel economy i will just wait and see, fingers crossed on that one ! thanks everyone for there responses.

About 10 mins or so, As you said its an easy job, I can say it will take alot of my concerns away regarding towing our caravan, i did nt think the car could do it ! I was even considering selling it and going German.
But on the down side i come back from the test drive and could hear a hiss from the back wheel, I have nice big screw hanging out of it, at least its my worse tyre !!

Had the tyre changed on saturday , I can honestly say the car is completely different now, Its not a slug anymore !!! I just have to be light with the pedal to keep economy up ! Fingers crossed !!! I certinally dont have the worry about towing my caravan anymore.

Stupid question I know, but is the cable adjustment the same on the petrol engined variants of the C5? Only ask as my accelerator pedal is lower than the brake pedal.
