Re: citroen docbackup

Post by Xantia97 »

Hi All,
2am and I'm going round the bend and up the wall!!

Have loaded docbackup (2nd time), didn't bother with sedre since it doesn't cover Xantia s1 (but it did work the first time), and am getting the 'technical error' page.

Am running it in xp mode on Win 7 64bit.

I have copied the .dll file from the docbackup software to the System32 file. Do I now need to delete them from docbackup? Do I need to get the .dll files from elsewhere?
Allowed pop-ups.

What about the info file, what should I do with that? :?

Any other ideas please, please, please?
Going to bed now - have had enough - another Manta looking a better bet by the minute

Might be worth trying to load it direct to Win 7 as it will work in this environment. It's only Diagbox that needs 32 bit.
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

Hi Juliet,

Have a look at the following thread:

http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... =3&t=42820" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Near the bottom of the first page you'll see me complaining about the same problem and on the second page posting the solution!

Hi Stempy and Simon,
Tried loading it in Win 7 64 bit but no change still had the 'technical error' page.
I checked the .dll files and they were in the System64wow folder but not the System32, so copied them into that - no change.
Did a compatability check and ended up with this error:

Error initializing Backup Systray: class java.net.SocketExtention=>Unrecognised Windows Sockets :O:JVM_Bind=>null

So updated Java but still no change.

Any other ideas, do you think I've got a dodgy copy?
Thanks,
Juliet

Some say it's a Java problem
and that it could be a port problem as well,
All we know is it's NOT the Stig but a PIB!!

Been at this all afternoon and no further forward, life is too short for this.
If Docbackup won't work does that mean that the Lexia software won't work - Lexia has just been delivered and I want to play :-D

Lexia/Diagbox is easier and quicker to install than Docbackup, as long as you install it in a 32 bit version of windows you should be ok...

Uninstall it and start from scratch, if that doesn't work the only other thing I can think of is to put the discs on the end of a pea stick and use them to keep the birds of your cabbages.....

I was beginning to think a total uninstall was the only answer.
Do you think it is making a difference because I'm not installing Sedre?
How do I kill psaagent.exe - Task Manager and end task? And at what point will it appear?
Is your docbackup using port 6091, have checked using netstat in cmd and 6091 is listening and active? When I had the same problem with Sedre I changed the port to 6092 and it worked - just no plans for our cars.

Thanks Simon and Stempy.

You only need to kill psaagent.exe if you're trying to install Sedre/Docbackup and you already have Diagbox/Lexia installed - in which case you kill the process from task manager just before launching the docbackup/sedre installer.
