I can't remember if you have to kill psagent before installing DocBackup?

Don't have any issues with SEDRE/DocBackup on Win7 64bit... aside from can't lookup VINs on SEDRE (think that's a known thing, so never really bothered after one didn't work).

Thanks Ben, I've managed to get it sorted, I'll post the details later tonight in case anyone else runs into the same problem! :)

You're right about the VIN number look up in Sedre not working Ben, that's a known issue according to a thread in auto-professionals.

For the second problem where Docbackup didn't work, a lot of digging on the auto-professionals forum turned up the solution - missing DLL files! #-o More specifically msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll are required for Docbackup to work.

Apparently these are MSVC++ runtime files that are bundled with Windows XP but not Windows 7, and for some reason the Docbackup installer doesn't install them. Probably the reason its working for you is that you've installed some other piece of software that relies on and has installed those two dll's for you, they definitely weren't anywhere on this machine.

I got copies from here and just put them in the appropriate directory:

http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-ti ... windows-7/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not sure if its an issue with my install or not, but the VIN number lookup doesn't work in DocBackup either - it just says unknown vehicle for my Xantia VIN which is a pity because the older version of Docbackup I had before did find my car from VIN number and list its specs.

My original DVD copy of Docbackup is defunct as DVD 3 is too scratched to read (and was marginally readable when I first got it anyway) so downloading a more recent version was the only option really. Apart from the VIN lookup issue I prefer the new version and the new user interface.

I also have trouble with the SEDRE installation. It seems to have installed but when I launch it I just get IE with a blank page and the hour glass waiting for something to happen. Doc Backup seems to work ok though. This is in Windows 7.

Do you have popups blocked by any chance ?

When it launches it first opens

http://127.0.0.1:6093/Sdr/jsp/index.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Which then has some javascript that opens a separate window at:

http://127.0.0.1:6093/Sdr/logon.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What happens if you paste this latter URL directly into IE, or another browser like Chrome ?

The first URL launches SEDRE in a pop up, the second URL launches the SEDRE directly. This is in Firefox. Clicking the icon in the sys tray launches IE with a blank pop up.

So the Sedre webserver running in the background is working ok if Firefox can access it, so it must be a problem with your IE settings...

If you paste the second URL into IE does that work ?

If not I'd try resetting privacy and security settings in Internet Options in control panel back to their defaults.

Second URL works in IE but first just brings up a blank pop up. Not too worried if I can get it up on Firefox, I'll just book mark it and use that.

Unfortunately some parts of Sedre only work in IE.

Do you use Firefox as your primary browser ? If so try a full reset of IE - in the Internet options control panel go to the advanced tab, press reset, tick delete personal settings then press reset.

This will completely reset IE to factory defaults except for not deleting favourites. All toolbars and BHO's will be removed, security and privacy settings reset to defaults, cache cleared etc. I'd be very surprised if this didnt fix it.

What version of IE is it ? 8 and 9 are the recommended versions for Sedre although I think 10 works too.

It's IE 10 and I've reset it as suggested but still get a blank pop up using the first URL but the second URL works fine with no pop up.

Similar problems....? Win7 32 bit, explorer 11, Citroen Service Box 2012. ( 2.9G twin processor, 4Gb ddr3 RAM)

First install went through getting codes but did not ask for cd3. Nothing worked, opened blank page.... Uninstalled, downloaded the two msvcp/r.dll files and reinstalled. Did not ask for codes or cd2 but requires cd2 when SEDRE opened. Opens SEDRE but only one diagram available from list. Docbackup opens blank page and I get "error has occured... please try again later" on every re-install. Uninstalled and reloaded 3 times. Second time uninstalled, rebooted, did a defrag and reinstalled. Again did not ask for codes or cd2. Repeated uninstal, re-bootedl and re-install with same result, i.e. not ask for cd2. When opening SEDRE requires cd2 to be inserted in drive, runs up and then drive not heard running again! Have no idea what is going on. Should this be connected to the internet when running or not? I have done the trial on my desktop with a view to install it on my NT laptop later - owing to it's much higher spec than the laptop.
Docbackup does not and has never worked.
I cannot find where the access codes have hidden themselves.. Obviously there is hidden info which may be negating the re-installs????

Have browsed the interweb extensively and am wondering if a direct download may be a solution?

http://www.growrobo.com/tag/citroen-ser ... sedre-2011" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

or maybe better

http://www.t411.me/torrents/citroen-ser ... arymistake" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and partie 2.

I must confess to losing it a little. My previous download had to be done remotely by vendor as I could not get that working correctly either, and I always have to enter the Vin (Xantia 2!); but am very nervous of reloading on my laptop as it would mean sharing a cd with my desktop or copying and loading via a "stick" as the cd drive will not read the supplied disk - think this is a problem with the HP rather than the disk which I can read on the desktop. Anyone have a way I can get this going as it is taking far too long and way too much time!

Apologies for the length of this post, but thought the more info the better. (I have run computer networks when in their infancy, but am no programmer).
Hope you guys can help!!!

Got mine running for a while but now it seems to have converted itself to terminal mode rather than stand alone so the only way I can access the documents is by linking directly via the browser history. The Doc Backup front page seems to be the terminal front page and I now cannot enter vehicle model etc.

Hi Stempy..... Is this possibly a consequence of having the interweb connected when running?? knowing of the problem with Lexia.... ( mine is still iffy). Should make it clear that the vendor download in previous post was for Lexia.
