how soft should it be...the suspention

Post by Nikolaymk »

Hi,
I've never driven / been in another citroen but my Xantia LX. I've had all my spheres replaced recently but the ride still feels somewhat firm. Out of town it's fine.
What does a normal Xantia ride feel like? At the moment i feel even small bumps / drainage lids etc.
What else can cause stiff ride except spheres on 50000 mile car?
Many thanks

Air in suspension - do the Citaerobics.
Rear suspension arm pivot bearings defective.
Front suspension cylinders worn (binding).
Tyres inflated too high.
Tyres not suited for your Xantia.
Low profile tyres -

I sometimes think my Xantia is harder than it should be, but occasionally have chance to drive other cars as well as my A4, most recently an Alfa 147. when I get back in my Xantia I realise how smooth it is. I think you just get used to the Xantia suspension and if you don't have anything to compare it with you can start thinking that something isn't right.

Thanks,
The tyres are right - the standard Michelin Energys. The oressure is also right - maybe my expectations are just too great. I don't drive other cars and don't have anything to compare.
