Yes, it all gets more complicated, but imagine if cars of 30 years ago were similarly fitted - you'd never get out the drive!
I removed and cleaned the EGR valve on the 1.6 ok, and the 2.0 installation actually looks a bit easier.
Anyway, thanks for all your great responses, I am now looking for a 2.0 DOHC version with the good seats and the 6-speed box.
Lastly, surprised no-one took the bait about the Octavia......

I can indeed, thanks Peter. I can also get an EGR blanking plate for £3.99...
